Board Certified, Pediatrics
My life thus far has been a zigzag journey from coast to coast! Born in Wisconsin, I spent my toddler years in Berkeley, lived in Maryland through high school, and moved back to Berkeley for the four best years of my life at UC Berkeley. It was then back to Maryland for medical school at the University of Maryland, then to Los Angeles for my pediatric residency at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. I became Board Certified in Pediatrics, and practiced pediatrics for five years at a private practice in LA. And now, finally back to the East Bay -- and so glad to become part of the Bayside family.
But let me say something more about my years of private practice in LA. Three of the biggest blessings of my life happened in those five years: I married my wife and we had our two children. Being a parent has really made me a better pediatrician! I went through the sleepless first few months, colic, toddlerhood and the terrible twos, and potty training, so I now know first-hand how challenging but rewarding being a parent can be.
One of the great rewards of being a pediatrician is that I also have the privilege of joining in this journey with many other parents. I am with you as your children develop from little babies who only eat and sleep, to toddlers who walk and talk, to going to school, and to going through adolescence. By the end of my five years of private practice in Los Angeles, my first baby patients had graduated into kindergarten! It was hard to leave the families in my LA practice, but I look forward to forming the same close relationships with my Bayside patients, helping to keep them healthy and well.
For my last six months in LA, I was also working as a hospital pediatrician in a local community hospital taking care of children at their sickest times. As such, I feel very comfortable with treating your child if they’re ill and advising you if they do need to go the hospital.
Outside of work, I consider myself a family man and love to spend time with my beautiful wife and my two adorable little boys. I’m also an avid Cal Bears fan and a general sports fanatic. Thank you for the privilege of helping you care for your children, and I look forward to meeting you!
